Frequently Asked Questions
How large a marquee do I need?
This depends on how many people you need to accommodate and also any other equipment you are using (i.e., dance floor, disco or a band).
Please see our Price List page for recommended seating capacities. Then also add extra space for your dance floors, catering tables, etc.
How long is your hire period?
You can keep the marquee for as long as you require, but the prices shown are based on a one to two day hire. Please ask us about longer hire-period prices.
Do you supply just the marquee?
No. We also supply linings, matting, dance floors, furniture, lighting and other accessories.
Are marquees suitable for winter events?
Yes, our marquees can be used all year round, but we would recommend the use of heaters during the winter months.
The marquees are made in compliance with EC safety standards and made to withstand winds up to 60mph; therefore only extreme weather conditions could cause a problem.
Can the marquee be opened up in warm weather?
Yes. The walls are designed to be easily opened and secured.
How long will it take for the Marquee to be erected?
This heavily depends on the marquee size, access to the site and weather conditions.
Can I make last minute changes to my marquee?
Yes, to a certain extent. Any requests for larger tents, extra furniture, etc can be accommodated depending on availability, so please let us know of any changes needed as soon as possible.
When will you assemble and dismantle my marquee?
For a weekend hire we would normally erect your marquee on the Wednesday, Thursday or Friday before your event, this will allow you time to add your finishing touches if necessary. We will dismantle it as soon as possible after your event has finished. Although, we are flexible and should be able to accommodate your particular needs.
Will the marquee damage our garden?
Yes, but only temporarily. Your grass will be covered for several days so will not look its best, but it should recover quickly. We are always careful not to damage any plants or flowerbeds near the marquee site.
Could the marquee damage any underground cables or pipes?
If cables or pipe work are near the surface damage is possible, so please advise us if any water mains or electrical cables are in that area.
Do we need to supply power to the marquee?
Depending on how much power is required, we can run electricity from a domestic mains supply or if needed we can arrange for a generator.
Can the marquee be connected to a building?
Marquees cannot be connected directly to a building but can be butted up close against it and are therefore an excellent temporary extension if the space is suitable.
When should I book?
You should try to book your marquee as soon as possible to ensure its availability on the dates you require.
Tea or Coffee?
We are all avid tea drinkers. Milk and two sugars please.
